Senior Sales Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Sales Engineer with 8–10 years of experience in technical sales, specifically in the areas of Advanced Data Capture, Mobile Computing, RFID, Wireless, and Printing technologies. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with exceptional sales acumen to identify customer needs, develop tailored enterprise solutions, and drive business growth. This role requires a unique blend of engineering expertise and customer-facing skills, and provides a critical link between our clients and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development
  • Partner with account executives to identify and develop new business opportunities across various industries (e.g., logistics, manufacturing, retail, healthcare).
  • Identify and understand client’s business requirements to properly tailor portfolio hardware and software solutions offered.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Conduct needs assessments and propose customized enterprise solutions.
  • Provide feedback from customers to improve service offerings.

    Sales Support and Technical Consultation:
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, explaining enterprise technologies, capabilities, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with clients to design and recommend solutions that meet their operational requirements.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Provide pricing and configuration support during the sales process.

    Solution Design:
  • Develop solutions to address specific customer needs, leveraging industry knowledge and knowledge of barcode scanning, mobile computing devices, RFID, wireless, and label/receipt printing technologies.
  • Partner with SMEs (subject matter experts) to develop proof-of-concept (POC) solutions.
  • Work with internal teams and customers to ensure proper implementation and integration of proposed solutions.

    Client Engagement:
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor for customers, guiding them through the product selection and adoption process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to identify new business opportunities and ensure satisfaction with deployed solutions.
  • Manage customer expectations throughout technical sales cycle.

    Market and Product Knowledge:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to provide insights that enhance our value proposition.
  • Identify key market segments and develop targeted strategies to penetrate these markets.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and campaigns related to our enterprise portfolio offering.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams on customer needs and potential areas for product improvement.

    Proposal Development:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed proposals, technical documentation, and RFP responses.

 

Qualifications

Experience:
  • 8–10 years of experience in a sales engineering or similar role, with a focus on Advanced Data Capture, Mobile Computing, RFID, Wireless, and Printing technologies.
  • Proven track record of supporting complex technical sales and successfully closing deals.
  • Prior multi-year experience across two or more industry verticals

    Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in barcode scanning technologies, RFID, wireless communication protocols, and industrial printers.
  • Experience with mobile operating systems (e.g., Android, iOS, Windows Mobile) and enterprise mobility management systems (e.g. SOTI, WorkSpace One, Intune).
  • Knowledge of enterprise mobility management systems (e.g. SOTI, WorkSpace One, Intune).
  • Familiarity with 3rd party middleware applications and the use of APIs for enterprise application integration.

    Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

    Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30–50%) to client sites, trade shows, and partner events.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Zebra Technologies, Honeywell, Cisco) are a plus.
